Meet Our Founder – Jibu Thomas, Travel Expert
With over 18 years of global travel industry experience, Jibu Thomas is the driving force behind Merit Holidays.
He began his career at Intersight Tours & Travel, one of India’s premier travel companies, where he honed his expertise in sales, marketing, and tour operations. As a tour manager, he led groups across Japan, China, Europe, Singapore, Malaysia, the Holy Land, India, the Maldives, and Russia, gaining valuable cultural insights and hands-on knowledge.
After relocating to Australia in 2016, Jibu played a key role in expanding a leading travel company’s agent network. When the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the industry in 2020, his passion and resilience led him to establish Merit Holidays—a venture that has since built a reputation for personalized service and well-curated tours.
During the pandemic, Jibu also worked as a Tourism Trainer at TIME Education, where he was honored as Best Trainer of the Year 2021–2022 for his dedication to training future travel professionals.
His career also spans nearly three years in the IT cloud industry with a multinational firm, enriching his skills in problem-solving, organization, and customer care.
Today, Jibu is fully focused on growing Merit Holidays as a trusted travel brand. He curates international tours for clients across Australia, organizes inbound packages for overseas agents, and designs domestic tours in Australia and New Zealand.
